EASD Academy

Last September, the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) launched the EASD Academy. The EASD Academy aims to be a platform for all early career scientists in the field of diabetes in all parts of Europe.
The EASD Academy is a new initiative to support, train, mentor, and create opportunities for scientists, clinicians, and students who are at an early or intermediate stage of their career, with an interest in diabetes research and/or clinical practice. Its core objective is to provide unique opportunities for development, a platform for exchanging knowledge and experience, peer support, and interaction with the wider Diabetes community. These activities will support and motivate early-career researchers and clinicians in the field of diabetes to become future leaders that pursue excellence in diabetes care and research.
Events
Besides the EASD Annual Meeting, the EASD Academy will organize scientific educational events throughout the year, aiming to provide opportunities to develop an early career network and build fruitful collaborations with events and an online networking platform. Already launched initiatives include an online Journal Club in collaboration with Diabetologia and online webinars.
Furthermore, the EASD Academy aims to develop a mentorship program for future leaders in diabetes research by pairing early-career scientists/clinicians with inspirational leaders.
