DANISH DIABETES ACADEMY AWARDS
Each year, the DDA hands out two diabetes prizes to recognize excellence, innovation, passion and commitment in Danish diabetes research. Usually, the awards are handed out at the DDA Annual Day, but as the DDA Annual Day 2020 is unfortunately cancelled, the DDA Awards will be handed out at the Networking Meeting for DDA-Funded Researchers instead.

Therefore, the DDA calls for nominations for:

  • DDA-Funded Scientist Award: This award is presented to a junior DDA-funded researcher (current or previous) who has shown great potential to be a world‐class researcher within his/her field of expertise.
  • Young Investigator Award: This award is presented to a junior researcher, below the age of 40, who is engaged in diabetes research in Denmark, and who has shown promising research and made an important contribution to the understanding and treatment of diabetes.

Requirements for nomination

  • A candidate can only be nominated once and only for either the DDA Young Investigator Award or the DDA-Funded Scientist Award. If the DDA receives more than one nomination of the same candidate, only the nomination submitted first (according to date and time of submission) will be taken into consideration. Please note that only current or previous DDA-funded researchers can be nominated for the DDA-Funded Scientist Award. Other candidates should be nominated for the DDA Young Investigator Award.
  • The candidates must be members of the DDA  (members of the DDA can only nominate one person each, and members of the award committee cannot nominate a candidate)
  • The candidates must be nominated by a member of the DDA (members of the DDA can only nominate one person each for each award)
  • The candidates must be engaged in diabetes research in Denmark and employed at a Danish research institution or in a life sciences company in Denmark.
