DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Be sure to mark your calendar for the DDA Annual Day where we will gather to celebrate the high quality of diabetes research in Denmark and abroad, listen to inspirational talks and network with other people working within any field of diabetes and other endocrinology.

This year is special, as we will also mark the end of the Danish Diabetes Academy (DDA) and celebrate the establishment of the new academy: the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy (DDEA).

The DDA was established in 2012 with a 5-year grant (2012-2017) from the Novo Nordisk Foundation and subsequently received an additional 5-year grant (2018-2022).

Now, we are very excited to look into 5 years with the DDEA (2023-2027) which will embrace the entire field of Danish endocrinology and strengthen collaborations between diabetes and general endocrinology in Denmark.

Therefore, we hope that you will join us for the Annual Day 2022 which will:

  • give you interesting perspectives from prominent scientists working within the field of diabetes and the broader endocrine scope
  • allow you to engage in discussions about intriguing and impressive research projects carried out by early-career researchers during poster sessions
  • give you plenty of opportunities to expand your professional network, and have fun with new and old colleagues in an informal setting.

JOIN THE ANNUAL DAY WITH AN ABSTRACT & POSTER

The DDA Annual Day will include poster presentations from early-career researchers. Therefore, we invite all postdocs and PhD students (obligatory for DDA-funded postdocs and PhD students) to submit an abstract in addition to their registration. DDA will evaluate the incoming abstracts and select the ones who will be offered a poster presentation at the event. There will be awards for the three best posters (see below).

Please submit your abstract on the registration page. See the abstract guidelines under “Registration, nomination & submission of abstracts”

Deadline for submission of abstracts is 24 October 2022.

POSTER AWARDS

Poster session procedure

  • The DDA will evaluate the incoming abstracts and select the ones who will be offered to give a 1-minute poster pitch in plenum prior to the poster session.
  • Your poster will be presented during two informal open poster sessions i.e. you are expected to stand by your poster and answer questions from passers-by during the poster session that your poster number is assigned to.
  • Your poster will be displayed in a separate conference room.
  • DDA will set up an evaluation process with specific evaluation criteria to decide who will win the three poster awards (further information will follow prior to the event).

See the poster format under “Registration, nomination & submission of abstracts”.
